Job overview
We are looking to add to our great catering team to work across various sites within the trust. The role will be 37.5 hours per week based over 5 days a week.
The successful candidate will be a great team player working in our kitchens and service points, who is capable of helping the teams to continue in delivering a fantastic food service to our service users within the units . They will be a great communicator, and have the ability to think on their feet.
Candidates will be expected to have or to be able to gain at least a level 2 food hygiene level of knowledgeÂ
The role will include basic kitchen duties as well as assisting in food service to our service users.
The role will be based at Woodlands in Little Hulton but will involve working at other GMMH sites as and when requested.
Main duties of the job
To provide a customer focused service.
 Preparation of hot and cold food items, service of patient and other meals or functions.
 To adhere to safe working practices in all aspects of hygiene management.
 To adhere to safe working practices in all aspects of risk management and security.
Carry out general and specialised cleaning tasks in accordance with Trust procedures.
To undertake mandatory training in COSHH, HACCP and comply with all Trust policies relevant to the post particularly with regard to the food hygiene policy’
The loading of ovens and food trolleysÂ
Assisting with serving food to patients at service points.
Please be aware this role may require long periods of standing , and may involve the moving and lifting of goods and food stuffs - so the successful applicant will have to be capable of such duties

Experience
Essential criteria
- Some experience of working in a catering environment
- Experienced in working with other people.
Desirable criteria
- Have a food Hygiene Level 2 certification
- Do you have previous knowledge of food allergens
- Do you hold a current DBS
Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Excellent standard of personal hygiene.
