Job overview

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced  Therapy Assistant/Support worker to join our dynamic Adult Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy Team.

You will have experience of working in outpatient setting within the Physiotherapy team.  The role will support the Adult MSK Physiotherapy team and requires the individual to be organised, an effective communicator and strong team player.

 You will work to provide timely assessments, optimising function and support with discharge planning for our patients.

We are looking for individuals who work well as part of a team and can contribute to innovative ideas on clinical pathways and can help drive forward excellence.

You must be adaptable to working with a range of patients and working environments with a flexible approach to the delivery of care. This must include a willingness to adopt working patterns.

Main duties of the job

Support will be provided by the Physiotherapy team who will take a proactive and innovative approach to continuous professional development, evidence based practice and service development.

In addition, you will carry out a range of non-clinical duties related to the role.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Foundation degree Health and Social Care, or equivalent level 5 qualification; plus, A-levels and GCSEs or equivalent(s), including Functional Skills (level 2) Or - as a level 5 apprenticeship, such as the Assistant Practitioner apprenticeship
  • Care Certificate

Knowledge, Training & Experience

Essential criteria
  • Substantial experience in health, therapeutic, rehabilitation and or social care setting
  • Knowledge of therapy assessments and interventions
  • Work well as part of a team
  • Dealing with confrontation
Desirable criteria
  • Adult MSK Physiotherapy experience
  • Admin experience
  • Able to teach new skills

Skills & Abilities

Essential criteria
  • Good communication (written and verbal skills)
  • Good organisational skills
  • Basic IT skills
  • Ability to travel to different geographical locations across the Trust footprint in line with service needs
  • Able to work on own initiative
Desirable criteria
  • Full UK driving license with willingness to use own car for work purposes
