Job overview
We are looking for a forward thinking, passionate physiotherapist with proven experience within Hand therapy services to join our hand therapy team here at Salford Care Organisation . The role will contribute to dressings clinic, hand clinic and some ward work. Ideally the candidate will have neurological or spasticity experience and have strong MDT working skills. You would be supported by a fellow a band 7 Physiotherapist and an Occupational Therapy 8a team lead and be part of a team of Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists from band 3 to band 6 level.
Main duties of the job
To take a lead role in the advanced assessment and treatment of Hand therapy patients, who may have complex and /or chronic presentation.
To determine clinical diagnosis and treatment indicated and maintain records as an autonomous practitioner.
To lead assessment, liaison, and decision-making processes on behalf of the MDT for patients referred to the service.
To undertake a significant clinical caseload to a high professional standard using specialist knowledge from theoretical and practical experience including spasticity management.
To help coordinate and evaluate the Physiotherapy Service in Hand therapy on a day-to-day basis, and to cover for any other area with this specific caseload as necessary.
To be competent in treating and supporting a wide variety of hand therapy patients through  their journey following their hand surgery from the ward, dressing clinic and through to discharge from the serviceÂ

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- BSC Physiotherapy Degree
- HCPC registered
- Significant evidence of post registration development in Hand Therapy related services
Desirable criteria
- Post Graduate study in Hand Therapy related topics
- Evidence of involvement in Hand Therapy related research
Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Strong evidence of advanced assessment and treatment of Hand Therapy related conditions in the a clinical setting.
- Evidence of strong MDT working in a clinical setting
- Evidence of continued Hand therapy / spasticity management relevant CPD
- Strong evidence of supervision / competent clinical educator in clinical settings
- Evidence of quality improvement work or Service development in clinical practice
- Evidence of advanced splinting ability
- Evidence of treating and managing spasticity
- Strong evidence of wound management and dressings

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
