We are looking for proactive a clinical pharmacist to join our expanding dynamic and friendly pharmacy team.Ìý Ìý

Working in a large teaching hospital like LUHFT will provide you with a range of experiences and challenges that will enable you to be an excellent clinical pharmacist.

You will be working with a team of experienced Pharmacists helping manage perioperative care to our elective orthopaedic patients.

The pharmacist role will involve working closely with the Trauma and Orthopaedic DirectorateÌý Advanced Clinical Pharmacist.

The job will help expand on your initial training.

Main duties of the job

We have a fully integrated electronic prescribing system along with unique in-house systems to help you deliver excellent clinical care to your patients.Ìý

You will be supported by a well-establishedÌý Advanced Clinical Pharmacist giving you an ideal opportunity to gain further clinical skills and experience post diploma. Applicants must be pharmacists registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council and have a postgraduate clinical diploma or equivalent experiential learning.Ìý

They should be self-motivated, organised, have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

  • Along with relevant Advanced Clinical Pharmacist, provide a safe and effective specialist clinical pharmacy service to Royal Liverpool Hospitals within the Orthopaedic speciality.Ìý
  • Audit, monitor and develop medicines management within the designated speciality
  • Provide training and routine supervision for rotational band 6 pharmacists providing pharmacy services to the designated speciality
  • Assist the Deputy Chief Pharmacist- Clinical Services, in providing clinical training and supervision of other departmental staff

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Vocational Masters Degree in Pharmacy or equivalent
  • Membership of The General Pharmaceutical Council
  • Diploma in clinical pharmacy or equivalent documented clinical experience
Desirable criteria
  • Non-medical Prescribing Qualification
  • MRPharmS

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Post registration hospital experience
  • Delivery of clinical pharmacy services to a range of specialties
  • Demonstrable commitment to continuing professional development / education

Knowledge
