Job overview
- To be part of a highly motivated team, yet work as an autonomous practitioner without direct reference to a line manager or professional colleagues in both community and acute settings.

- To assess, diagnose, develop, and implement individual care programmes for patients with a wide variety of clinical needs, including acute or chronic neuropathies, chronic diseases such as diabetes and connective tissue disorders, vascular problems, wound management and biomechanical conditions.

Main duties of the job
We are looking for an enthusiastic, highly motivated, forward thinking Podiatrist with a minimum of 2 years NHS experience, who is keen to develop their clinical skills within a friendly, supportive and innovative environment.
ÌýThe post-holder will be required provide a range of high quality podiatric interventions in a variety of community clinics, GP practices, and also in nursing homes & domiciliary settings throughout the Wirral peninsula, Merseyside & Cheshire.
ÌýAs a Specialist Podiatrist you will also be actively involved in providing specialist diabetes care & orthopaedic podiatry services to patients in Wirral University Teaching Hospital.Ìý This will involve working as part of a consultant led multi-disciplinary team as well as podiatrist led clinics and ward sessions.Ìý This work can at times be unpredictable and an ability to work flexibly and adapt in a fast paced environment is essential.
ÌýSupport and training will be provided with assistance given to the successful candidate in order to complete the College of Podiatry Foot in Diabetes module.
The position requires applicants to be able to work flexibly across a wide geographical area, therefore you must have access to your own transport for work purposes. This post provides an excellent opportunity for pro-active clinicians to demonstrate their existing skills within a challenging environment.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Podiatry degree or equivalent qualification
- Registered with Health and Care Professions Council
- Local Anaesthetic Certificate
Experience
Essential criteria
- Two years experience in an NHS Podiatry setting undertaking a range of procedures and interventions
- Up-to-date portfolio of continued professional development
Desirable criteria
- Demonstrate an understanding of the clinical governance agenda
- College of Podiatry ‘Foot in Diabetes’ Module
