Job overview

The Aneurin Bevan University Health Board is responsible for the delivery of health services to more than 600,000 people in South East Wales. The Grange University Hospital in Llanfrechfa deals with all major emergencies and treat and care for those needing complex, specialist or critical care.It includes a 24-hour Emergency Department and Assessment Unit dealing with emergencies and resuscitation cases and has a broad range of diagnostic services, operating theatres, and a consultant-led obstetric unit. This is an excellent time to join the Health Board.

C4 is a specialised 31 soon to be 39 bedded unit caring for patients with a range of acute and chronic respiratory conditions. It comprises of 6 monitored high care beds within the critical care unit which delivers intensive nursing care.

We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated individuals to join our Respiratory team on Ward C4 at The Grange University Hospital. Applicants are invited from those who hold NVQ Level 2 or 3 qualifications and those with previous experience in an acute setting.

The successful candidates will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills. The willingness and ability to work in a constantly changing environment is also an essential requirement.

Main duties of the job

Currently we are unable to provide certificates of sponsorship for this role as it does not meet the Home Office’s criteria. Anyone requiring a certificate of sponsorship is therefore unable to be shortlisted and interviewed

The HCSW will provide high quality, consistent and cost-effective health care for patients with acute physical and psychological needs. You will need to demonstrate a commitment to delivering high quality person centred care.

You will need to have excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with patients, carers and other professionals. You must be an excellent team player, have high levels of motivation and enthusiasm for working in a demanding but rewarding service. You will be joining a team that is passionate and focused on achieving excellence in care delivery, for all patients in this area of specialised nursing.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this role; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
