Senior Psychologist - ADHD/ASD/Tourette's Service

Band 8a

Job overview

This is an exciting opportunity to participate in the ongoing development of the service for adults who are wishing for diagnosis and treatment for neurodevelopmental conditions- namely ADHD, Autism and Tourette鈥檚.

We are looking for an experienced psychologist with a background in neurodevelopmental assessment to join our team. The service offers specialist assessment and interventions and promotes neurodiversity approaches in the wider service and across mental health pathways. There are also good opportunities for people wishing to work part-time or across a couple of different specialties in the Trust.

Northamptonshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust was rated听Outstanding by CQC in 2018 and is a great place to work. We are proud of the Psychology provision within the Trust, and feedback has consistently been that we have a well-developed Psychology network which offers a strong sense of professional identity, support and strategic influence. Psychology and psychological approaches are highly valued in the Trust, and Psychologists have the opportunity to shape clinical and organisational strategy as well as provide clinical services. We believe that supporting and involving our staff means that they enjoy their work more, and that our clinical services are better as a result.听The successful applicant would receive professional support and be professionally and clinically accountable to and overall managed by the Consultant Clinical Psychologist Service Lead.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for suitably qualified clinicians ideally with some specialist clinical experience in the field of ADHD and Autism, as well as some experience in working with complex clinical presentations in Adult Mental Health. Potential applicants should also be experienced in providing supervision.

Equally important is the ability to develop innovative practice and play a lead role in the ongoing development of the service pathways. You would need to contribute to the vision for this听 service, work closely with partners across the team and the Trust. This will require you to exercise collaborative leadership skills within the Team and to promote the service externally. We are looking for an innovative and resilient clinician with evidenced training who can operate with confidence and credibility to play a key role in the service. Highly developed interpersonal skills and ability to influence and negotiate successfully are essential. You will contribute to developing and monitoring the clinical outcomes and impact of the service and will have a flexible approach to changing patterns of service delivery as needed.

Working for our organisation

NHFT is an integrated primary care and mental health Trust, providing physical, mental health and specialty services in both hospital settings and out in the community. Because we put the person at the centre of all we do, we focus on delivering care that is as easy to access as possible. This means many of our services can be provided at home, work or in schools.听We also provide health services to various prisons and detention centres in Bedfordshire and Cambridgeshire.

NHFT promotes a culture of learning to improve the care and safety of our patients and staff, which focuses on people who enable our Trust to be 鈥榦utstanding鈥 by supporting opportunity, innovation, development and growth.

Were happy to consider any reasonable adjustments that you need to be successful.
