Job overview

We are looking for an enthusiastic audiologist / clinical scientist with experience of complex Adults and Tinnitus to join our service at an exciting time of change.

Main duties of the job

The role involves being a lead clinician for our some of more complicated adult clinical areas such as complex hearing aids and tinnitus. Clinical duties will depend on the experience of the successful candidate but we would welcome a discussion with opportunities across all parts of the service.

Our Audiology department is mainly based in the city centre in Ropewalk House, with a base at the Queen's Medical campus too. It is a large, diverse department with a strong commitment to training and development for all.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

The successful candidate will take a leading role in the ongoing management of our complex adult and tinnitus service with a focus on service improvement. As an Advanced Audiologist there will also be line management responsibilities and an expectation of working clinically at a high level.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • BSc Audiology or equivalent
  • Registered with appropriate regulatory body
  • Evidence of working in one or more specialist areas of audiology
Desirable criteria
  • MSc in Audiology or equivalent M level credits
  • Training qualification
  • STP or HTS specialist modules
  • Leadership qualification
  • STP Train the Trainer certificate
  • Good Clinical Practice certificate

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Significant experience of clinical work across specialties
  • Experience of working with complex adult clinical case loads
  • Experience of leading service development and audit
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of line management
  • Experience of developing and implementing research proposals
  • Evidence of delivering presentations

Communication

Essential criteria
  • Experience of delivering sensitive information to patients
  • Evidence of experience in teaching and giving feedback
Desirable criteria
  • Practical leadership experience
