Due to the current post holder's promotion this rare opportunity to work within both disciplines has become available.Ìý There is no need for previous formal training experience just the right attitude to learn and to support and nurture others.ÌýÌý

In addition to this role we also currently have a number of vacancies at band 7 level across the organisation including two rotational posts working across the City medicine specialties for 18 months and a senior clinical pharmacist post in respiratory medicine. Main duties of the job

This is a split postÌý - 50% of your time will be spent clinically within the specialist medicine areas of the trust.Ìý You will get the opportunity to experience a variety of medical specialisms from cardiology, respiratory, renal and infectious diseases all aimed at building your clinical knowledge and skills, as well as maximising your integration with the multi-disciplinary teams.Ìý

The other 50% of your time will be working within our dedicated and experienced education and training team.Ìý Here you will mentor and support trainee and early years pharmacists ensuring they have the skills and aptitude to excel clinically.Ìý As part of this you will also get the opportunity to line manage and work towards being a designated supervisor for a trainee pharmacist; building your development portfolio further.Ìý

Pharmacy Education and Training 50%

Clinical pharmacy duties (50%) ensuring core clinical pharmacy activities are undertaken within the clinical pharmacy medicine team

Leadership, management and directorate/service support roles

To line manage and support more junior pharmacists and pharmacy technicians in the specialty

To take full part in the 7 day shifted rota and bank holidays dutiesÌý

The post holder may be required to work at one or both campuses

Training and Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • GPhC Registered
  • Diploma/MSc in clinical pharmacy or equivalent post graduate qualification
Desirable criteria
  • Independent Prescribing Qualification

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Wide previous experience (post registration) of hospital pharmacy
  • Experience of delivering Education and Training processes within a hospital setting
  • Experience of day to day supervision of trainee pharmacists/technicians
Desirable criteria
  • Evidence of project work/audit/research

Communication & Relationship Skills

Essential criteria
  • Good interpersonal presentation/negotiation skills-written and verbal
  • Good communication and interaction with MDT and own profession
Desirable criteria
  • Teaching skills including supportive feedback

Analytical & Judgement Skills

Essential criteria
  • Critical evaluation skills to support drug therapy decisions and patient information.
  • Able to assess and minimise risk in medicines management processes
