We have an exciting opportunity to join our team at the Nottingham Radiotherapy Centre as aÌý Band 6Ìý Dosimetrist/Treatment planner.Ìý We would love to hear from any enthusiastic and motivated radiographers or clinical technologists who would be interested in further developing their careers as part of a supportive and friendly multi-disciplinary team which includes radiographers, technologists and physicistsÌý

The Radiotherapy department at Nottingham offers the opportunity to be involved in a wide range of planningÌý including VMAT,Ìý SABR and SRS techniques.Ìý We have both Monaco and Raystation planning systems, 2 Canon Exceed LB CT scanners (with 4D scanning), access to MRI/PET fusion for outlining and AI contouring technology including MVision.

Main duties of the job

The production of radiotherapy treatment plans in conjunction with Radiographers, Physicists, Technologists and Oncologists

The calibration and dosimetry quality assurance of radiotherapy equipment and treatment plans

To work and lead as part of a team of staff and to assist in the provision of a high quality Radiotherapy Service. To work closely with clinicians, physicists, radiographers, technologists, clerical staff and others providing specialist knowledge, skills and expertise to the department

To comply with and contribute to the maintenance of ISO 9000 quality system for the department.

To participate in audit, and the clinical research and development of techniques and equipment.

To participate in the training and education programme of student and junior radiographers and technologists

Person specification

Training and Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • HCPC registration or eligible for registration with RCT
Desirable criteria
  • Masters/Post graduate education
  • Evidence of radiotherapy planning specific education

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Minimum of 2 years post graduate experience as therapeutic Radiographer or dosimetrist.
Desirable criteria
  • Radiotherapy Treatment Planning or Pre-treatment (vSim) experience
  • Evidence of planning complex radiotherapy techniques (SABR/SRS)
  • Evidence of working in NHS with Cancer Wait Time target knowledge

Communication and relationship skills

Essential criteria
  • Evidence of working within a Multi-professional Team
  • Evidence of communicating complex information in an understandable manner

Planning and Organisational skills

Essential criteria
  • Evidence of organising and prioritising workload taking in to account complexity
  • Ability to adapt to changing workloads and priorities e.g. response to unpredictable requests

Physical skills

Essential criteria
  • Able to use complex computer systems to support treatment planning
