Job overview

Join Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust as our Patient Finance Cashier and make a real difference by supporting patients, carers, and staff with patient finances.

Based at our Littlemore Mental Health Centre in Oxford, you鈥檒l handle patient monies, ensure accurate payment processes, and provide assistance to wards and departments on monetary issues such as Exchequer, Charitable Fund monies and Petty Cash. Your role will also involve maintaining precise financial records, supporting audits, and balancing various accounts, all while upholding high standards of confidentiality and professionalism.

We鈥檙e looking for a dedicated team player with excellent interpersonal skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage sensitive financial information.听 We're looking for candidates with experience in customer service, cash handling and spreadsheet skills.听

This is a part time role (22.5 hours per week) with the following working pattern: Monday, Wednesday & Friday, 7am - 3pm.听

Main duties of the job

  • Receive, pay out, record and balance patient鈥檚 monies including work allowances and provide statements of accounts when requested.
  • Ensure patient鈥檚 monies are forwarded when patients are discharged.
  • Identify errors and discrepancies on payment receipts and patient money accounts and resolve issues.
  • Code and process patient payment requests and petty cash claims ensuring these are correctly authorised.
  • Maintain good office procedures, including the filing of all relevant documents and correspondence.
  • Assist Internal and External Audit with any information required, involving preparing spreadsheets and resolving queries.
  • Covering our Warneford and Whiteleaf centre offices when required ( annual leave/sickness )

  • Understanding of requirements for Information Governance and legislation surrounding confidentiality (e.g., Data Protection Act)

Qualifications

  • 5 GCSEs grade A*-C, or equivalent, including English and Mathematics
  • AAT intermediate, part qualified, NVQ 4 qualified or working toward qualification, or equivalent knowledge and experience.
