Job overview
We pride ourselves on being a paperless environment so you must have good IT skills with the willingness and ability to learn new hospital operating systems. The main part of this role is preparation of doctor and nurse clinics i.e uploading of documentation and checking appropriate tests have been completed and reported for appointment. You will also be trained to help with ordering supplies and new products and helping the nursing team with any administrative tasks.

As this is a very busy department and you will be working in a busy nurses office, you must possess great organisational and communication skills with a proactive approach to tasks. You must be an organized individual who is able to maintain a decluttered and tidy working environment for the nursing team.

You must be able to work on your own initiative and as part of a team. You must be someone who has great attention to detail, a good communicator and have strong IT skills. As this is a dynamic post you will need to have vision, with a flexible approach to work and a can do approach.
Main duties of the job
To provide a comprehensive, efficient, administrative support service on a day-to-day basis for the Urology Nursing Team. The post holder will need excellent verbal and written communication along with excellent IT skills.

Your main duty will be answering the phone and dealing with administrative tasks on a daily basis. This will include taking direct phone messages from patients and dealing with queries or escalating to the most appropriate member of staff. Managing the different internal referrals and e-mails under the supervision of the Nursing Team.Ìý To work within a demanding time frame by prioritisation of workload and excellent time management.

You will be required to provide a comprehensive administrative service across a range of duties, working with minimal supervision and demonstrating the ability to use their initiative whilst always observing a caring and confidential approach to patients
