We are looking to recruit an experienced Cardiac Physiologist / Healthcare Scientist to work in our Cardiac Device and EP service as part of our Diagnostic Cardiology team.
We are looking to recruit experienced candidate with BHRS/IBHRE/EHRA accreditation in cardiac devices or electrophysiology.
Interested applicants should possess BSc in Clinical Physiology, MSc Clinical Science (Cardiac, Vascular, Respiratory and Sleep Sciences) or BTEC / HNC in Medical Physics and Physiological Measurements and holds RCCP / AHCS / HCPC registration.
Working Hours/Pattern: 37.5 hours a week 4 days 8am-6pm to meet the needs of the department. Flexible over 7 days, On call commitment in addition to substantive hours.

Main duties of the job
To support the Invasive Cardiac Physiology Service at STHT by providing a high standard of work within their expert field that meets organisational, professional, and individual needs for the Diagnostic Cardiology Unit.
To undertake simple and complex cardiac device implantation and follow up in line with departmental and BHRS guidelines.
To undertake electrophysiology studies.
To participate in the 24/7 on call rota for PPCI and urgent cardiac device follow up and implant.
To undertake and support all other invasive and non-invasive investigation as required.
To provide leadership, training and education in the clinical areas, enabling staff to develop the clinical skills and competencies required delivering a high quality invasive service, responsive to changing needs.
To work alongside other senior members of the team to deliver a in-house invasive physiology training programme.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- MSc Clinical Science (Cardiac, Vascular, Respiratory and Sleep Sciences) or other relevant Level 7 academic qualification or BTEC / HNC in Medical Physics and Physiological Measurements or BSc in Clinical Physiology with relevant experience and ability to demonstrate working at Masters / Academic Level 7
- BHRS/IBHRE/EHRA accreditation in CRM or EP
- Active membership of the BHRS
- Registration with RCCP, AHCS or HCPC
- SCST parts I & II (if applicable to qualification route)
Desirable criteria
- Immediate Life Support
- Teaching or Managerial Qualification/ Experience
- Registered as a Clinical Scientist with the HCPC
- Demonstrate Continual Professional Development
Experience
Essential criteria
- Experience performing simple and complex cardiac device follow up to a high standard and according to BHRS guidelines
- Experience in providing specialised, unsupervised diagnostic reports to an appropriate level and highlight and urgent findings
- High volume of training and support to junior members of staff, Specialist Registrars or other medical professionals is expected
- Experience of providing a wide range of invasive and non-invasive investigations
- Experience in leadership supervision and assessment
- Experience performing cardiac electrophysiology studies
Desirable criteria
- Experience delivering research, audit or service improvement projects
- Experience in physiologist led implant and / or extraction of ILR’s
