Job overview

We are excited to offer an opportunity for a Band 3 Therapy Assistant to join our dedicated Elective Therapy Team at Heatherwood Hospital. This role is perfect for individuals passionate about delivering high-quality rehabilitation care to patients following their elective procedures. You will be working alongside specialist Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists and Therapy Assistants to deliver rehabilitation to patients following their elective procedure.

Main duties of the job

  • You will work closely with specialist Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, and Orthopaedic Technicians to support patients across the elective pathway, including Orthopaedic, Breast, and Gynaecology surgery.
  • Your role will involve working flexibly across pre-assessment, day surgery, inpatient wards, and private services to ensure patients receive the best possible care.
  • To participate in continued personal development and other departmental activities.
  • To work flexibly across an extended seven day service covering 07:00-19:30pm Monday to Saturday and 0800-1600 on Sundays.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

  • Assist qualified therapists in providing a high standard of orthopaedic therapy services

  • Support patients throughout their elective procedures and rehabilitation.

  • Work collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team across various settings.

  • Manage a specified caseload independently after training and competency completion.

  • Deliver training to new Therapy Assistants and Technicians after achieving required competencies.

  • Conduct primary assessments of patients within the scope of your training

  • Participate in personal development and departmental activities to enhance service delivery.

  • GCSE or Equivalent in English and Maths
  • Understands confidentiality
