Job overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen with the Mental Health Liaison Team, a Psychiatric Liaison Service which works out of three Acute hospitals in Coventry, Nuneaton and Warwick.
We have been success in securing funding to recruit to a fixed term/secondment band 7 OTÌý clinician to join our expanding multidisciplinary team to enhance our serviceÌý in line with the NHS 5 year Forward View for Mental Health to achieve a CORE 24 service.
This will includeÌý facilitating initial community follow- up in line with CORE 24 objectives.
We would particularly like to hear fromÌý Occupational Therapist with a background in Adult Mental Health/ Learning Disability and/or Older Adults Mental Health.
Main duties of the job
We are strengthening our teamÌý and are looking ÌýforÌý a skilled, motivated and compassionate practitionerÌý and looking to offer a more responsive and comprehensive service than ever before for people who attend A&E or are receiving care in an acute general hospital. You will need experience of working with people across a broad spectrum of mental disorders including people who self-harm or who are in mental health crisis or experiencing mental disorders associated with ageing.
Successful candidates will be joining our well established and supportive team of experienced Clinical practitioners: Psychologist, Occupational Therapist,Ìý Consultant Psychiatrists, Clinical Support Workers and a Clinical Trainer to support new staff joining the team.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
We are looking for practitioners with Professional registration inÌý allied health professionals, you will need a demonstrable level of clinical experience, and to be an excellent communicator and a good team player. You will need to be passionate and committed to delivering a service to a high standard, as well as being able to work in partnership with other teams and services including the Acute Trust hospitals.
MHLT work 365 days a year and offer a 24 hour service to the Acute Trust hospitals.Ìý The Band 7 OT post will require to work Monday to Friday.Ìý

- Grad Dip/BSc Occupational Therapy
- HCPC Registration
- Evidence of post-graduate education
Knowledge and Skills
Essential criteria
- Specialist Knowledge and applied skills of Models of practice (e.g. MOHO) & related assessments
- Evidence of on-going personal development (e.g. portfolio)
- Knowledge of health and safety requirements
- Organisational Skills
Experience
Essential criteria
- Significant post graduate clinical experience with good basic training/post graduate rotations (or within a community / intermediate care setting)
- Demonstrates an understanding of clinical governance in relation to Occupational Therapy
- Evidence of good generalist skills
- Evidence of staff supervision
