Would you thrive in a role where you can support adults with learning disabilities to live a fulfilling and meaningful life?

The Partnership Domiciliary Care Agency (PDCA) at Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust does just that. We provide care and support to adults (18+) with learning disabilities/ autism in their own home. We offer long-term support to a small group of 14 service users and encourage them to live as independently as possible. Working with adults who have complex and high risk emotional/ behavioural difficulties gives us job satisfaction in abundance, as we empower them to follow the routines and lifestyle that they deserve.

Main duties of the job

As an Assistant Team Leader, you will be part of a motivated and dedicated management team. You will need to have effective communication skills including written, verbal and interpersonal skills, be organised and able to prioritise your workload and work to deadlines. This position will include providing support and supervision to staff.

You will be responsible for leading the shift within the hubs. Duties will include answering the phone, deal with any emergencies, responding to alarms and completing audits, daily checks; including money checks and covering breaks and make necessary changes in staff allocations to ensure all service users and staff are safely supported.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

Requirements

We want someone passionate and motivated; reliable, flexible, able to work under pressure in sometimes unpredictable circumstances. You will need to have good I.T skills and a sound knowledge of word, Outlook and Trust systems.

Although training will be given in relevant skills to the successful applicant you should have considerable recent experience within a learning disability / challenging needs setting and hold a NVQ 3 or equivalent QCF / relevant experience. You will be expected to attend a 1-day bespoke PMVA (physical intervention training) face to face training and have a good understanding of Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) model.

You will be responsible for leading the shift within the hubs.
