Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen within Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust for an eRostering Team Leader.

The eRostering Team Leader, will act as the Trust’s specialist lead advisor in all aspects of Electronic Rostering (eRostering), and will support the implementation and ongoing management of the Trusts' eRostering system.

The role holder will make a huge impact to improve workforce productivity by embedding best rostering practices throughout the organisation.

Main duties of the job

The role will be responsible for managing the eRostering workforce team, ensuring overall system accuracy and maintenance amongst the eRostering Service. The role will work in partnership with other teams in the Directorate, key stakeholders and service users to ensure that a high-quality service is provided by the eRostering team which supports the achievement of both national and local key performance indicators (KPIs) through effective and efficient rostering.

The post holder will provide expert advice, training and support to eRostering users within the People and Culture Directorate, and across the whole Trust.

The post holder will apply specialist report writing and analytical knowledge and skills to support the extraction of data from the Trusts eRostering system. The eRostering Manager will work with other managers within the People and Culture Directorate to ensure that eRostering is used in an efficient and effective manner, to best fit the business needs of the Trust.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

  • To ensure that a high-quality service is provided by the eRostering team which supports the achievement of both national and local key performance indicators (KPIs) through effective and efficient rostering.
  • To ensure the Trust is compliant with its eRostering and Safer Staffing Policy by reviewing eRostering processes and practices.
  • To work closely and collaboratively with key stakeholders to ensure the effective maintenance of the eRostering system, such as departmental and staff changes mirror Electronic Staff Record (ESR), which is the master database.
  • To manage the eRostering team to ensure a high-quality service is delivered in line with the priorities of the organisation.
  • To understand and provide expert advice on the inter-dependencies between the Finance, Workforce, Training and Payroll systems ensuring that impacts are understood before system changes are made.
  • To identify, influence and manage the full range of internal and external customers and stakeholders, to ensure that key eRostering information is communicated effectively.
  • To facilitate and coordinate customer and supplier meetings and provide reports and presentations to the relevant stakeholders.
  • To identify, manage, and provide assurance on risks and issues ensuring mitigation and contingency plans are in place. Communicate risk and issue management plans to senior management, stakeholders and relevant teams.
  • To be responsible for quality assurance and management of the eRostering function.
  • To ensure maintenance and development of the eRostering software so that the Trust benefits from enhancements to the product functionality.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • • Education to degree level or equivalent level of experience
  • • Evidence of continued professional development
  • • Experience of participating in projects and using databases
  • • Experience of using E-rostering systems
  • • Experience of extracting information from HR/Payroll systems
  • • Experience of data collection and analysis
  • • Experience of managing a team
Desirable criteria
  • • Knowledge and understanding of key issues within the NHS and/or other public sector organisations
