Job overview
Trust Doctor (CT1-2 equivalent) based at Worthing Hospital, part of the University Hospitals Sussex NHS Trust for a period of 6 months, Feb 2025 - Aug 2025.
Main duties of the job
Clinical duties:
Day time work will include a mixture of clinic and diagnostic investigations, managing the in-patient work with the support of the other junior staff and supervised theatre lists each week. The successful applicant will be part of the team and involved in managing the in-patient workload.
Teaching:
There are weekly meetings which is attended by all departmental staff, rotating between clinical governance, business, journal and interesting cases
There are regular weekly postgraduate meetings.
The Trust supports the requirements for Continuing Medical Education as laid down by the Royal College of Surgeons and is committed to providing time and financial support for these activities.
Research:
The Urology Department is very research active, and the successful candidate would be encouraged to participate.
Administrative
The Trust Doctor will have responsibilities towards maintaining good documentation, prompt discharge communications and planning work.
On Call Commitment - SHO Level covering Worthing Hospitals for urology and General Surgery.

Essential criteria
- • Basic medical degree
- • Postgraduate qualification or appropriate specialist qualification
- • Full GMC Registration with a licence to practice
- • Advanced Life Support Certificate from the Resuscitation Council UK or equivalent
