Job overview
A great opportunity has arisen for a permanent, Band 4 Medical Secretary. The post holder will provide an efficient and effective high quality secretarial service to support Consultant and Medical Staff in maintaining a safe, efficient and effective clinical service.Ìý
The post holder will be required to work flexibly in response to the needs of the Networks Consultants, providing cover on various sites as directed by their Line Manager to ensure continuity of a quality service provision.ÌýÌý
The successful applicant will require a mature, flexible approach and the ability to work within a busy team. They will also be expected to use their own initiative and work unsupervised to ensure the effective coordination of duties.
Evidence of a good general education is essential together with good communication skills and excellent organisation ability. You must have fast keyboard skills. ÌýKnowledge of working within the NHS will be an advantage and computer skills will be essential.Ìý

Main duties of the job
To provide a comprehensive secretarial, administration and information service to specified Consultant’s and their team within Adult Mental Health. To facilitate the organisation of the workload of the Consultant and their team and coordinate their activities with other medical secretaries to ensure and efficient and confidential service is provided.

Education/Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Good level of general education including Mathematics and English at GCSE Grade 4 or above, or equivalent.
- NVQ Level 4 in Business and Admin or equivalent experience.
- OCR level III or equivalent word processing experience
Knowledge

- Understanding of GDPR
- Specialist knowledge of a range of secretarial procedures
