Detailed job description and main responsibilities

We are looking for enthusiastic, motivated, highly adaptable individual to supervise our reception team in the Immunology laboratory at Southampton General Hospital.

The main duties of the role include supporting the Biomedical Scientists in the laboratory by booking in samples, sending away samples to other laboratories, organising reception staff to perform duties within reception, filing reports, receiving supplies, performing some assays. Applicants must be able to demonstrate an organised and thorough approach to their work. Previous NHS laboratory experience is an advantage although full training for the role will be provided.

Qualifications

Essential Ìý- GCSE in Maths and English at grade A -- C/4-9 or alternatively Functional Skills in Maths and English at Level 2

Practical experience in a NHS laboratory
Ability to work as part of a team and promote team working
Being flexible and adaptable at work in order to meet competing priorities

The main shift will be 9am - 5pm ÌýMonday Ìýto Friday.Ìý
